The Oyster, Parts XXVII to XXXVI, complete in one volume

Pp. 681-1043; numerous full page plates and text-figures (halftones and line-drawings).  Later red cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, 8vo.  Extracted from: Report of Commissioner of Fish and Fisheries for 1880.  This early work on oysters has ten parts on all aspects of oysters and oyster-culture.  The first three titles include “The Oyster and Oyster-Culture” by Mobius, “A Practical Guide to Oyster Culture, and the methods of rearing and multiplying edible marine animals” by Fraiche and “Report on the Oyster and Mussel Industries of France and Italy” by M. Coste.  No ownership marks and no signs of use.
