Publisher’s original gray course-weave cloth, lettered in black on the spine and front cover, in blue-patterned dust jackets, each volume is housed in a gray card slipcases lettered in black, folio (14 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches) and 4to (12 x 8 3/4 inches). Volume 1 contains English text, Volume 2 contains color plates and Volume 3 contains Japanese text. A high quality facsimile reprint of this important monographic work on the snakes of Japan that was originally published in 1931; the reprint was issued in a limited edition of 500 copies. This reprint edition is long out of print and has become quite scarce.
