(vol. 1): ix, 289; pp. (vol. 2): xi, 359; pp. (vol. 3): (viii), 169; pp. (vol. 4): (viii), 219; pp. (vol. 5): (viii), 224; pp. (vol. 6): (viii), 329; pp. (vol. 7): (viii), 112; pp. (vol. 8): (viii), 273; with 280 full page black-and-white photo-plates each with a descriptive leaf of text and numerous text-figures.  Publisher’s original yellow cloth, lettered in black on the spine, red pictorial dust jacket, lettered in black on the spine and front cover, sm 4to.  This eight volume set contains 92 separate monographs on the geology and paleontology of Southeast Asia.  These 92 articles include field reports on the geology and paleontology of Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and the Philippines.  The field reports include studies in stratigraphy, geotectonics, fossil animals of various geological ages, and Permian, Mesozoic, and Tertiary fossil plants through which the clarifications of the geologic history of this part of Asia has been carried out.  This is an informative reference series resulting from many year’s study of Southeast Asian geology by the contributors, geologists from Japan and numerous host countries.  Volumes 1, 2 and 3 have the name stamp of Tenneco Oil Company Exploration Library on the top page edge and volume 1 has the same name stamp in bottom corner of the title page; there are no other library marks and few signs of use.  Volume 1 has a few neat underlines on the first few pages only.
