By Chang, Mangven .L. C.
SKU# 19852
Pp. 156, 5 full page plates (line-drawings), 3 distribution maps, 20 text-figures. Early brown cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, 8vo. This volume is based on Chang’s Ph.D. dissertation which he completed in 1936 at the University of Paris. This monograph is the first complete study of Chinese salamanders (Adler, volume 2, p. 186). The work is warmly inscribed by the author to American herpetologist to Dr. E. R. Dunn; the inscription is in English. It is likely that very few copies of this work were published, which has contributed to its great scarcity. From the research collection of herpetologist Richard D. Worthington with his signature on the front endpaper.
