The Complete Coral Snake Papers, 1925-1958

Pp. 185+; numerous black-and-white photos, line-drawings, maps.  Later black cloth (in simulated snake skin style), lettered in gilt on the spine, some printed wrappers bound in place, lg 8vo.  All 17 papers on coral snakes authored by Karl Schmidt are presented in this volume.  Bound in at the beginning of the volume is a paper by James Peters entitled “A Bibliography and Index of Karl P. Schmidt’s Papers on Coral Snakes” from Copeia (1959), no. 3, pp. 192-196 which lists all 17 coral snake papers.  All of Schmidt’s papers on coral snakes were published in Field Museum of Natural History, Zoological Series, Proceedings of the California Academy of Sciences, Copeia, Zoological Series of the Field Museum of Natural History, and Fieldiana: Zoology.  Some of the wrappers are signed or stamped with the former owner’s names.
