Text in Russian with twelve-page summary in French. The first owner of this volume was invertebrate paleontologist T. Soot-Ryen with his name stamp on the front wrapper and title page. It was later from the research library of Mackenzie Gordon Jr. (1913–1992) who was an American invertebrate paleontologist with his name stamp on the front wrapper and title page. Gordon was an expert on Carboniferous fossils. Gordon worked for the United States Geological Survey for 40 years, from 1941–1981. He was research associate at the National Museum of Natural History from 1981 to his death in 1992.
