Pp. 487.  Publisher’s original blind-stamped brown cloth lettered in gilt on the spine and with gilt panel line, 8vo.  The Geology and Natural History Survey of Minnesota, Report #1.  The first comprehensive study of avifauna of Minnesota.  Often listed under the name of the state zoologist, H. Nachtrieb.  Tipped in at the title page is a printed card “With the Compliments of Henry F. Nachtrieb, State Zoologist”.  This title was the first in a proposed series of volumes on the zoology of Minnesota.  See also Zimmer 452.  Name stamp Ron Sauey Memorial Library on rear endpaper and the top page edge, plain pocket on the rear endpaper, no other ownership marks to the text or cloth binding.  Ron Sauey was co-founder of the International Crane Foundation, Baraboo, Wisconsin.
